Willow's Weekly - Week 09 - More Community Lots (at last)

The city hall needs to be restored, but there aren't any funds, apparently.
So we've been stuck with an emergency building for both politicians and law enforcement officials in town. It's prefab and ugly. And really small. It's a good thing Niua Simoa doesn't have a military, there just wouldn't be room for it.

Somebody tried to cheer it up with grafiti. I actually like that design. There are a lot of ugly buildings in town that could be cheered up with a bit of paint, it seems a shame that this building is only temporary.

With everyone safely tucked away in the emergency location, the lots in the town center were empty, and ready for construction work.

And this week the roof went on the police station. It's as good as new. Probably better.

Of course we got a tour.

To the right, right behind the lobby, is the evidence room. To the left of that is the prisoners'shower, and a long hallway.

This is the main work area.

There is an interrogation room, with a one-way mirror, and another room for line-ups and mug shots - also with a one-way mirror. You can look through both mirrors from the dark room in the middle. (Actually, that's where the rug is!)

There are four prison cells, which could house 8 prisoners.

One of the officers made the totally inappropriate remark that this is where we journalists would end up if we ever wrote something 'nasty' about the police. I'm not sure how to take that - he pretended it was a joke, but it didn't really sound that way...
Oh, well. If I ever get locked up for what I write in this blog, I hope you'll all come to my rescue!!

And in the meantime, let's talk about something happy: the new grocery store is open, too.

It's small, but it has everything you could possibly need.

* * *

And the park in the middle of the town has also been re-opened. They've imported several truckloads of plants, and it's more lush than it has ever been.

There are new trees and shrubs everywhere in town, actually.

* * *

And the library isn't done yet, but it's looking better than ever before.

Eliza Orton, a Sim from SimZealand, is our new librarian. She and her brother moved her a while ago, and it looks like they're here to stay.

* * *

Near the library there's a community garden of sorts. It's an old orchard that was abandoned by its owners generations ago, so after a while it became 'common property', so to speak.
The fruits and vegetables aren't of the best quality, but they're free.

* * *

Not exactly a 'community lot' in the Sims sense, but there is some 'community housing'. Most of the mixologists live in one-room studios in this building.
