There's now a new and improved gnubb stadium. Although these days it would be possible to have a football stadium, or a basketball court as the sports venue, the inhabitants of Niua Simoa opted to reinstate their national sport of gnubb.
I have to admit it looks great - it's totally back to its former glory. The athlete's dressing rooms and fitness equipment are now all located in the basement.

Speaking of sports, the Sevele family sold their old gym in the village, because they're now concentrating on developing their new state-of-the-art gym on Waka Island.
The old gym was turned into a dance studio.
Ana Harawira is the barrista here - she lives across the street, so it's easy for her to get to work, and she likes the extra money.

In the meantime there's an old monastery that used to house monks of the Resolute Fist - they're mainly a Shang-Simla cult, but they had some followers on Niua Simoa in the past.
These days there are no monks left. So Tschura Ling (whose parents were from Shang Simla, and who had at least two uncles who were monks) decided that the monastery could be turned into a second dojo. (There is a dojo in Tapuwhai town, but not everyone likes going to town for everything....)
The original monastery even had beds - they must have been decades old, as there haven't been any monks of the Resolute Fist in this town since before I was born!
The monks would be surprised to see all the new equipment, but I think they would approve of the sauna, massage table, climbing walls and even the yoga mats. From what I've read about them, the Monks of the Resolute Fist were all about physical perfection.

And recently I found some more pictures of the palace renovations to share with everyone. (After all, it's your tax money at work here!)

There's now a new throne/reception room, as well as a private ballroom, a tv/music room and a formal dining room.

The kitchen is in the basement.

This is just what they share with the general public - there are rumours of even richer decorations that are only on display when their are foreign dignitaries to impress...
The palace has a huge staff, but I get the impression that there aren't any permanent, live-in personnel there.
This is Heifara Rodolpho, the royal housekeeper. He's a bit of a cross dresser, I guess. His wife and daughter live in town.

There are actually two butlers and four maids/housekeepers who seem to be taking turns working for the royals. It's apparently not a job for life.
One of the butlers is Tea Burrows, who used to be married to Elvira Ashcroft. They have twin daughters together, who both work as papergirls. Elvira is currently engaged to Moana Matatoki, and they actually have a daughter together, who recently moved into her grandmother's tiny house - as if she had room to spare with three teens crowded into her tiny fale!

Ana Harawira redid her fale as well. Pita is still living with his grandmother, while his parents moved back to France some time ago.

There was a slight mishap with the fence, but nobody really minds. It's basically just to keep the deer out, it doesn't have to be pretty... Ana told me that she will of course fix it 'later' - she just didn't say how much later!

In the meantime Bernard Fuanaki has finally managed to join the fire brigade. He's now an official fire fighter.
He works with Fokai Ota Ika and Sefina Ota Ika (who is his ex-girlfriend, so that's a bit awkward).

One of his first jobs was at the new police station. Everybody was freaking out, but Bernard managed to save the day, apparently.
Bernard actually asked me out on a date, and we had a good time. I would love to see him again. He's hot, he's a fire fighter, and he loves flowers. What's not to love?
