Hina is their only daughter.
She recently married Tim Chin, an immigrant of Chinese origin who came to Niua Simoa with his sister Mae (now married to Filepi Tapuwhai, as we have seen).
Tim had great plans to make the island more attractive to tourists, but he doesn't seem to have made much progress. Hina is determined to help him bring the island to a new level of prosperity. Much to the chagrin of her parents, having children is not high on her list of priorities at the moment.

Hina's older brother Hakopi moved out of the house to start a small farm in Old Farm Village. He works at the new science facility on the island, and wanted to experiment with new crops.
One night he found a young woman wandering the streets. She had strange tatoos on her face and blue, blue eyes. She also appeared to have lost her memory, and looked very, very ill. There was definitely something strange about this woman, but she couldn't tell Hakopi who she was or where she came from. Hakopi decided to call her Runa and take her in to nurse her back to health.
Eventually the fever went down. In fact, it went down much further than it should have, leaving her skin very cold to the touch. It turned out that Runa could speak, but she didn't know the language, so Hakopi taught her.
By then, Hakopi had fallen very much in love with Runa. And moreover, his conservative parents were starting to express their concern about his 'shacking up' with this strange girl, so he thought it would be best to marry her and not worry too much about her strange origins. Because his own house was very small, more like a shed than a real home, they moved into a fale right next door to Tane and Totara.
A year later, their first child was born, a little girl. For some reason, Runa insisted on naming her Corinna, although she couldn't tell Hakopi where she'd heard that name before or why it was so important to her.
To Hakopis relief, Tane didn't make a big fuss about the non-traditional name. He suspected that it would have been a different matter if Corinna had been a boy, though...

Actually, the eldest son of the family had reason to know for certain that Tane would kick up a fuss at non-traditional names for his grandsons. His wife wanted to name their first son Russ, but Tane kicked up so much dust that it was changed to Rangi. (Since they do still depend on Tane's money for their income!)
Moorea Palefau had taken over the management of most of his father's business holdings, and moved into a small house at the other end of Tapuwhai town. He has a good head for business, and a few years ago his father would have said that he was a good judge of people, too. Maybe he still is, when there are no hormones at play, but his marriage can't be called anything but 'unfortunate' by anyone who wishes him well...
Moorea's wife is Claudine Mau, also known as the 'evil twin'. Technically, the Mau girls aren't twins, but they are so close in age, and so different in nature, that the nickname isn't as inappropriate as it would seem...
Claudine's dearest wish is to become a criminal mastermind. An Empress of Evil. And what better way to start than to worm her way into the influential Palefau family? Since she's beautiful, and can be charming when she wishes, it's no wonder Moorea was fooled.
With her husband's money, Claudine feels sure she can acchieve her goal in her lifetime. And if not, so she reasons, her son can become Emperor of Evil. She is determined to raise him right...
What Claudine doesn't know yet, is that little Rangi is both clumsy and good - not likely to become 'Emperor' of anything - let alone Evil... But for now, she's happily making her evil plans...
Claudine convinced her husband to buy a large European-style mansion in the centre of Tapuwhai town, and she's forever scouring the mail-order catalogs for more ostentatious, out-of-place furniture with which to dazzle her fellow Simoans.
The most exotic thing she could think of on this tropical island was to have a Polar theme nursery. Of course, like everything else in the house, it's ostentatious and uber-matched.
The mansion is my own adaptation of a house made by Nengi65 at Sims Crossing. I stripped away most of the landscaping and added some palm trees, etc. to make it fit in with this world.
