For one thing, the sky seems to be a lot foggier these days.
But other than that, a lot of the babies seem to have grown into toddlers. Celestine Tumeke defied her fathers wish to have nothing more to do with his parents, by growing up with her grandfather's white hair:
Jeanie Pataua and Aleki Tagaloa also grew into toddlers.

And rumour has it that the Wahawaha household is expecting a new arrival.
After the latest volcanic eruptions there is a new face in the building crew who will likely stay on the island: Fokai Ota Ika, one of the adult children of Topou.
He helped with some of the rebuilding, and stayed on to become the bartender at the new dive bar. He moved in with the Young Roomies household.
As we've seen, Silver Roger and Marley Williams started a diner together. Silver just provided half the money, and he'll come by to pick up profits every now and then. It's going to be Aimee who will be in charge of the kitchen, probably with some help from Mary.
Marley, of course, is a writer. He uses the diner mainly for inspiration for his new detective novel - it's a great place for 'people-watching'.
The diner is build inside an old ship, with a lot of changes of course - it's not really seaworthy, but to the tourists it will certainly look like a ship, and that is what counts.

The Ling family did get their wish. They have a new house. It is still red, though. The Stevenson family (Robert, Louis and Cassidy, that is) have a new house as well. It's still green, but it's located in the center of town, right next to the Ling family.

Robert-Michel Gao renovated his house thoroughly, Nobody quite understands where he got the money...
And Manasse Karakia has a new nursery.

The town museum has been upgraded as well.

And then for something completely different. Lately there has been some creep driving around in an ice cream truck all over the island. Nobody has ever seen who drives it, and it has the nasty habit of parking outside unsuspecting citizens' houses in the middle of the night (when no sane person would wish to rush out to get ice cream).
Rumour has it that the Sinister Clown has returned... Whatever it is, the moment a child buys a popsicle they immediately run to the other end of the island to eat it - as far away from the vehicle as possible!
