Of course, deer don't really stay in gardens, especially not if you leave the fence open...
The town council had already spent a lot of tax money hunting down a stray raccoon that apparently came from the mainland as a stowaway in the back of the creepy ice cream truck.
Crystal Ling quickly decided this trend needed to be stopped, or before they knew it they'd be invaded by even larger animals. She had some horrifying visions of herds of wild horses, longhorn cattle, or even llamas...
So now there's legislation against any kind of wild animal. Except deer, because the king wants deer...
Next up, of course, is to find a way to deal with strays. Apparently dogs and cats have been escaping off trade vessels, or something? In any case, you have to get up very early if you want to read a paper these days!
Fortunately, I was able to find mods to take care of wild horses and raccoons. I sort of liked the deer, so I didn't look for a mod to get rid of those.
I do need to find a way to fix the strays, though. They're annoying.

Elsewhere in town, Bernard Fuanaki finally moved out and got himself a job. So now Lose and Taranaki have just the three youngest girls at home.
The Fuanaki family now live in a fale with two bedrooms. The two teens share a bunk bed.
Their dining table seems overly large now that the two eldest have left home, though.

Aoatea works at the new bistro on Waka Island. She also does most of the cooking in the house, because she needs the experience.
Since Rani is also a natural cook, and has no job of her own, it would probably be better for everyone if Tea moved. But all she can afford at the moment is one of the little hovels at the edge of town, or a room in the Young Roomies apartment... And she knows that her over-protective older brother and his fussy little wife will not let her move to a place like that!
Meanwhile, Rani is already thinking about having another baby. She was even re-reading her pregnancy book...

Little Tama Palefau aged up to toddler this week. Of course he had a marvelous birthday party, and his mother Claudine did not miss a single chance to make snide remarks to her sister Berthe about the fact that her son Ranjit aged up without even a cake. She knows very well that the Sevele family can hardly afford cookies, let alone a big cake and a party, but it's so much fun to rub it in!
Some attending relatives were heard to observe that all the parties in the world wouldn't make up for having a mother like Claudine, and little Ranjit was a lot better off than his cousins.

Ricky Pataua ages up to school age a few days later. There was no party, as the Pataua family are also having enough trouble making ends meet lately. Ethel works hard enough at the hospital, but Big Joe is sliding *down* the career ladder at an alarming rate. Poor Ricky doesn't look very happy. (He also looks unfortunately like his brother Jonas...)

As usual with a hurricane and a relief fund, the palace received some minor upgrades as well.
Fortunately there was enough money left to also repair the school building.
And some of the prefabs needed to be re-painted.

*lol* @ the stray dog who eats the morning newspaper!
I love how you added the pets, even the less desired ones, to your gameplay! You're brillant! *smooch*
