Somehow it never really worked out that way... For decades, nobody really lived on the island. There was a juice bar which nobody really visited (except on occasion when somebody decided to travel by dive well).
These last few years, however, there has been renewed interest in developing the area. King Henry I gave some of the older bungalows to his two younger children (mostly to get them out of his hair and keep them out of his palace).
It took a lot of work to get the houses up to today's standards, but where money is no object, repairs aren't that much of a problem.
The Stevenson house is not quite done yet. Their previous large home on Waka Island was totally destroyed, and this new bungalow still needs a lot of work.
The city bought the ruins of their former house, and it was decided to build a new Exclusive Lounge on that plot. (Design by EA Architecture.)
The Sevele family and Daniel Tumeke were the only other residents who spent money on the houses.
Anju and Honare don't actually like the old houses, but the love the idea of living practically next door to the rich and famous. So instead of rebuilding their old house in town, they bought a smaller house on the island. They also invested in a brand new Health Centre. It will have a pool and a sauna, but of course it will also be a replacement of the old Spa. Massage tables are being set up in the basement already...
Unlike the previous spa, this one is totally owned by the Sevele family.

In week 33 Niua Simoa residents heard some wonderful news. It seems that Dame Prudi Tench, the famous movie star, decided to retire to Niua Simoa after all.
Years ago, when filming one of her famous spy-thriller-romantic kung fu action movies, she fell in love with the island and talked about living there when she got older. However, so far apparently she'd been held back by the fact that there were no pets allowed on the island. And she has quite a few of them.
But now there's nothing that keeps her from finally buying herself a new home on Niua Simoa.
Dame Prudi lives with her adopted daughter Willow, who is now a young adult. Willow got a job with the Niua Simoa Courier.
Dame Prudi seems to be content to stay at home and take care of her animals. She has already announced her inention to buy up several empty plots of land on the island to be made into pet playgrounds.
Most of the temporary studio buildings were demolished long ago, but there are two sheds still standing. Nobody really knows what to do with these buildings yet...
(I found Dame Prudi hiding in a version of Niua Simoa I hadn't seen before...Of course I immediately had to put that version in my game to examine all the Late Night lots, and it's there that I discovered Dame Prudi - I loved her story, but hated her house, which was an EA bin house that didn't look very 'Simoan' to me...)

Oh, it's a super neat idea to have used those "swimming pool delphins" on the roof!!
I love the Tapuwhai's kid bedroom!
