More Surprises

At the end of the week, there's a crisis in the Schiffer/Tumeke household. After a big fight with Kurt, Margo took all the money in their household account and ran off to France.

At first Kurt thought she'd really left him, but it turned out that she'd run off to her eldest brother and his wife. More of a 'break' than a 'break-up', apparently.

John was not really happy to see her, though. He just isn't sure what Margo's intentions are - their mother was a nectaraholic, and he's heard stories about Margo.

Losa, on the other hand, realised that Margo really needed help. First, she made Margo call Kurt, so he could stop worrying. Then she took Margot upstairs, to do something about her wardrobe.

And the next job is to convince John that the rumours are exaggerated - mainly by the Schiffer family, who lose no opportunity to badmouth Margo.
Since Kurt stopped listening to his parents, they've been telling stories to all their friends and neighbours, trying to enlist their help in 'rescuing' Kurt from what they view as a disastrous marriage.

It takes some time to convince John, but in the end, he agrees to give his sister another chance to prove she can handle her nectar.

As a test, they decided to sign Margo up for a few classes in nectar making. So she goes off to the Champ-les-Sims Nectary for some work experience.

Margo really thought (or hoped?) she would be able to learn by samping the products, but instead, she spent her days harvesting, stomping fruits and making nectar.

She did enjoy the work, though, and found out to her surprise that she had a green thumb, and really enjoyed gardening.
And in spite of the fact that she was surrounded by nectar day and night, she didn't really feel like drinking. She was just too busy!

So to everyone's surprise she is ready to go home again after three weeks - full of good intentions, and with a new, healthy tan, nicer make-up and a whole new wardrobe.

Kurt forgives her - he's just glad she's back.

Everybody is still sceptical about this 'new Margo', but who knows - she may surprise everyone yet!!! Maybe she can still work on her wish to have a 'bottomless nectar cellar' without having to sample all the bottles?

The jury is still out on whether or not she is an addict, or just a woman with a nasty set of in-laws...

At the end of the week there was another big surprise. There was a message that Elesabeti Stevenson gave birth to twins: a son and a daughter!

They barely had money to buy two cribs. It would have been more than enough if Elesabeti hadn't insisted on the most expensive model, of course, but even becoming a mother hasn't entirely cured Elesabeti of being a spoilet brat...

And, as threatened, Tschura Ling aged overnight:

(I think it's probably a side effect of having twin toddlers. And a wife in politics...)

It's never to early to learn about politics.
