Willow's Weekly - Week 22 - Arrr

Yes, this week I'm going to talk about pirates. Or rather, the Roger family.

Silver Roger, of course, co-owns the local diner with Marley Williams. However, he does not work there - he's a professional athlete.

The Roger family all love travel, but they haven't gone anywhere in a long time. They just talk about travel a lot.
Jolly would like to go to Egypt.

Jolly wants to hear a bedtime story about all the places her parents visited before she was born. It annoys Mary (who dislikes children and misses traveling), but Silver is ready to oblige with a good sailing story.

This week Silver's boss wanted him to improve his martial arts skill, and for some reason seems to think Silver has to travel to China to do this. (There's a perfectly serviceable Chinese Garden right in the middle of Tapuwhai Town, but only China will do for Silver's manager.)

So Silver decides to take the whole family.

Silver spends a little time meditating - enough to improve his martial arts skill just a little bit, to satisfy his boss - but he spends the rest of their short trip doing what he loves most: fishing.

In fact, the whole family goes fishing.

Mary also runs around a bit collecting metals for one of the locals, but she can't find the red emperor beetles he keeps asking for. She does find some extra metals to sell, which is helpful, because the trip was a bit too expensive for them.

The kids play a lot of chess - and for some reason feel they have to talk about school?

Everyone seems to have enjoyed the trip, and Silver gets a nice promotion at work when he demonstrates his "vastly" improved martial arts skill.
He celebrates by treating himself to a new motorbike. With a prominent club logo, of course.

Jolly still wants to go to Egypt, though.

* * *

Laione Tau aged up to toddler this week, and his mother is already preparing for the arrival of the next baby. Which she now openly hints is not actually Topou's child. (If she's ready to admit that, it can only mean that the father is someone who would pay her to shut up! One of the Henry's seems more and more likely!)

She is still engaged to Topou Ota Ika, who doesn't seem to mind that she's now going to have another man's baby. (Or maybe he sees the new baby as a potential solution to his cashflow problems - the royals are bound to have to pay for child support? It has to be one of them, right?)

In my aging system babies are only babies for the equivalent of six months. On my 98-day year, it means that they age up after 7 weeks game time. It feels like there's somebody being born or aging up at least ever other day sometimes...
